Fun filled and busy weekend
I had a great weekend but boy was it busy!!
Friday night Charlie, Bryan (his brother) and I fished a little tournament on townlake. This was a little tourney with some of the guys who help Charlie with his website - there were only 5 or 6 boats. It was actually super cool to fish on TL right in the middle of downtown on a Friday night. Highlights of the trip were me catching big bass on our boat and watching the bats fly from the boat. Very cool vantage point.
Charlie and I with my fun catch!

I am sooooo dorky!

I love this pic of all the folks lining Congress to watch the bats take flight

What a beautiful place to watch the sun set.

Saturday AM Charlie, Coop and I went for a bike ride on the H&B. We rode Mopac-Pleasant Valley loop. I had the honor of pulling Coop the whole way. Pulling 50 pounds around for an hour and a half is actually kinda tough :). Here we are post ride - I think Charlie moved when taking the pic because we look weird!

Yesterday I got to ride out at Reimer's ranch for the first time. The guys felt like I finally graduated off WCP trails. We met at 7:30 and rode for about 2.5 hours. We road 15 miles on the Expert Loop. Expert? Yeah! I kept seeing the Novice trail signs and we would always turn in the opposite direction. Highlights - I took about a 3 foot drop!! I almost cried before going over it I was so scared. But it wasn't too bad once I did it. After that the little 1 and 2 foot drops were nothing!! I also took my first real jumps - they have this long stretch downhill with all these wood ramps built out. I was thinking no way in hell when I saw the first one early in the ride but by the stretch I was nailing them. That is so much fun!
The trailhead at Reimers - yeah we rode the Expert loop. Yikes!

A map of our ride

Lots of ups and down - this profile doesnt do it justice

The ride was really pretty - reminded me of the Saint course.

Another ride pic

So there you have it - my very busy weekend. I am sad it is over. But I plan to have a kick ass week this week and Sat night will be my first ever night run. Woot!
Carry on.
